Playtech To Acquire Struggling Online European Gambling Oulets

28th August, 2007

Playtech has just announced that they will be looking to purchase struggling European online gambling companies. Playtech is one of the leading online gaming software suppliers worldwide, which seems to be aiming towards a new target, which involves acquiring online gambling outlets that are finding it hard to survive in the European online gambling market.

This is what Avigur Zmora, the Vice-Chairman of Playtech, had to say about this: “We are looking for the opportunity and when the opportunity is there we usually move very quickly. We think that this is the right time to prepare the company to be almost the only alternative out there." So, it is clear that the company is trying to move closer towards a very strong, nearly monopolistic position, by trying to target different audiences in terms of demographics. They are not just targeting different geographical audiences, but by developing and expanding their connections with online poker and sports betting providers, they are also going to gain more and more different gambling clients interested in what they have to offer.

Due to this rapid expansion, Playtech is now going to introduce a sport betting software to add to its product line portfolio and therefore make it the only place anyone would have to look at, to get the latest online gambling technology. "We want to have a sportsbook to give the whole suit of services to our licensees. What is happening at the moment in the markets is working in our favour. People see their shares slumping whether it's related to their business or not," Zmora explained.

So, we are left to wait and see if Playtech is going to acquire the status of a best online gaming industry’s leading software provider.
