Playtech announce impressive revenues for 2008

Online Poker network Playtech have announced their revenue results for 2008. The results were at a record high for the gaming giant as revenues increased to €111.5, up 70% form the previous year.

Playtech have recently merged with online gambling provider William Hill to create, William Hill Online. This new company will act as a gaming giant, providing games and software to a huge range of customers.

All of Playtech's affiliates have also become part of William Hill Online and the new venture is expected to perform well in 2009.

Chief executive Mor Weizer said in a statement “We have the biggest liquidity in network poker and that attracts new business. When you add to that our ongoing discussions and further regulation to come, we anticipate our growth to be very strong in 2009. The industry is still growing and regulation will enable it to grow further and that will prove that our strategy works.”

The new William Poker platform was launched last week as has already attracted large amounts of players, many of whom have migrated from Cryptologic's platform to the new Playtech one.

Casino and poker products performed exceptionally well in every quarter of last year, and the new merge with William Hill hopes to further increase net gaming revenues throughout 2009.
