Poker Ad Pulled

Swanpoker.com’s magazine ad campaign has been pulled by the advertising standards authority.

The advertisement, which featured in the poker title flush, displayed a female holding her breasts with the strap line, “will you hold this pair for me?” The advert promised “hot action” where “your favourite girl will play as you tell her to”

A supplementary advertorial went further suggesting swankpoker.com as, “the very best in poker action coupled with the finest erotic entertainment that the civilised world has to offer”. It informed clients that female staff, “bring enough action to the Swank tables and the next thing you know, she could be taking care of your wildest fantasies”

The Guardian reported that the remote gambling association complained to the ASA as the campaign was not socially responsible and linked gambling to seduction and sex and may exploit more vulnerable members of society.

The company in question denied the allegations, replying that it advertised for adults only and the content happened to be of an adult nature. Despite this, the ASA concluded that the advert linked gambling to sexual success and that the advertisement should not be shown again.
