Questions asked on Australian Gambling laws

Australian internet gaming regulations Questioned

It has been claimed by many in the gaming industry that online operators have an unfair advantage over land based casinos and bookies. Online sites allow players to pay and deposit on Credit Cards and offer large amounts of free cash to bet with.

Other claim that online operators offer games in Australia don't not fully support responsible gambling.

David Costello, Chief Executive of Clubs Australia said "Standardizing gambling laws would mean online operators would be banned from accepting bets placed with a credit card and offering gambling inducements such as $1,000 in free bets, and would also be required to have staff trained in responsible gambling."

Clubs Australia are pushing for the Government to introduce the same regulations and legislation imposed on Poker machines which includes 200 individual pieces of Law.

Several online operators are still finding their feet in this still relatively new market place, but many expect stricter guidelines to soon be imposed on gaming businesses.
