Rank help by online sector

Rank entertainment is one of the largest gaming groups in the UK. The company own a large share of the land based bingo market and also operate Mecca Bingo online and sports bookie Bluesquare. The group have recently released their annual reports, which demonstrate how the online part of the business is performing well.
Group revenue stood at £522.2 million for 2008. Even in the current economic climate Rank's online performance has improved especially with regards to their Mecca Bingo site which generated 60.3 million in operating costs.
Overall the online operating revenue grew by 6.3% proving that online is the way forward in the UK gaming industry.
Chief Executive Officer for Rank said in a statement, '2008 was a year of stabilisation for Rank following a period of significant upheaval in the gaming industry in 2007”
He went onto add, 'Since the start of 2009, we have seen positive regulatory reform for the licensed bingo clubs industry through an increase in the maximum allocation of B3 gaming machines.'
