Remote Gambling on the Rise
7th November, 2008
Internet gaming markets have grown considerable amounts in recent years. The numbers of operators offering games is now in the thousands and more internet users are discovering the benefits of placing bets online. Online Poker, sports betting, bingo or casino formats, all have grown in popularity.
Online gaming created a whole new industry with new companies, brands and products. Successful sites such as Foxy Bingo had no land based halls or Casinos and have achieved huge success by specializing in internet gaming.
However markets are starting to settle as industry leaders strengthen their position at the top of the market. Names such 888.com, Foxy, Gala, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Bet365, 32Red, Pokerstars and Betfair all have thousands of regular customers.
New research shows that Remote Gambling is on the rise. A commission report under taken by ICM has reveled the number of people in the UK gambling on devices such as PC's, Laptops, hand held devices and mobile phones has increased. 9.3 percent of the 8,000 respondents had placed a bet using a remote device compared to 7.3 percent the same time last year.
New devices are being designed and sold every year such as the I Phone and Blackberry. These new gadgets offer high speed internet access on the move, allowing consumers to place bets at anytime or any place.
No longer are consumers restricted to having to visit the bookies every Saturday to place their weekend football bets. Bingo players can bring the bingo hall to their own home and casino players can do the same with a Las Vegas style casino! Poker players can also pit their wits against foreign players on the other side of the world.
Traditional gambling establishments such as Casino's, Bingo halls and Bookie shops were often difficult to access for millions. However remote gambling has removed the barriers which restricted the land based industry, and now more people than ever are discovering the excitement and thrills of online gaming.
