Sega Granted Online Gambling License
16th October, 2009

Video game developer Sega seem to be moving into the online gaming market. They were granted an online gambling license by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission this week.
"That SEGA Games chose to base their new venture with us in Alderney is something we are immensely proud about," said Robin Le Prevost, head of eCommerce Development for Alderney, a British Crown dependency Channel Island almost 100km off the South Coast of England.
"In our minds it indicates the high quality of our regulation, which is recognized the world over and has seen substantial investment from companies of high standing like SEGA over the last few years." The Alderney Gambling Control Commission already licenses major online poker rooms which include PartyPoker and PKR.
"The Alderney Gambling Control Commission provides the most comprehensive gaming regulations with the strictest requirements and such is recognized as the most reputable online gaming jurisdiction," said a SEGA Games spokesman.
"This provides an excellent fit with SEGA's regulatory compliant strategy and we are pleased to be approved by this leading authority."
Sega is one of the largest video games producers in the world. The company is responsible for Genesis, Saturn and Dream cast consoles not forgetting games like sonic the hedgehog.
It’s not quite known what Sega will be bringing to the online gambling world but it’s already registeredwww.segapoker.com and www.segacasino.com.
