Sky Poker launch World Series of Poker site
23rd April, 2009
There’s just over a month until the poker world shifts its attention to Las Vegas for the 40th Annual World Series of Poker 2009. The Rio All Suite Casino will be the venue where thousands of amateur hopefuls and pros will come together to for the biggest competition in the game.
More than a month of action will commence at the end of May and will see millions of dollars won and lost.
To coincide with this year’s tournament Sky Poker, the multiplatform poker room, will launch a site dedicated to bringing coverage and informing users of the competitions developments.
The site wsop.skypoker.com is now live and will be updating viewers with the latest action and stats, along with video footage and pictures allowing users to see the progress of the Sky Poker players.
Sky Poker is also holding tournaments for players, giving them the opportunity to win themselves entry into the WSOP’s main event.
The first of 57 events in the 2009 WSOP starts on the 27th May, although players at Sky Poker can start playing now to win the £10,000 prize trip, including 14 days accommodation, flights, and buy-in to the WSOP 2009 main event.
Last year saw Sky Poker player Will Brewin win his way to Las Vegas and finish 118th of 6844 players, gaining him a $40,000 cash prize.
Mr Brewin said, “Last year’s World Series was amazing, having Tikay there with me and the other Sky Poker players throughout the whole tournament was immensely helpful, we were really taken care of. I am really looking forward to this year’s event and I’m hoping to improve on my place – and my winnings!”
