Smelly poker player kicked out of casino
31st July, 2008
Michael Wax, a man from New York City, was asked to leave an Atlantic City Casino on Tuesday after many casino patrons who had been sitting around him complained of the man’s terrible odour.
Reportedly the man had been playing poker at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa for 17 hours straight and hadn’t taken a shower or even left the casino in that time. After a while other casino patrons complained to the casino managers of the man’s smell. After that, the casino workers asked the man to leave the building.
“There’s no question I stink,” said Wax. “I’m not denying it. I do have an odour. I’ve been playing for 17 hours.”
Wax never denied that he smelled, but when the casino employees asked him to leave he asked if he could have a free room to freshen up a bit. The casino would not grant his request and asked the man to leave the casino.
Wax left the casino and immediately filed a formal complaint with the Casino Control Commission, outlining his treatment as being unacceptable. A spokesman for the commission said that his complaint will be reviewed and they will determine if the casino violated any state gambling laws or regulations.
“I would like an apology,” Wax said. He said that the casino shouldn’t have told him that he stinks right in front of all the other patrons. He also said that he thinks it might be best to just move on to the casino, but he claims to love playing at the Borgata and would like the matter to be resolved.
