Snai joins Playtech's poker network
13th August, 2008
One of Italy’s leading land-based operators, Snai, has decided to have a go at the online market and is now launching an online poker room on Playtech’s Italian poker network.
Snai will be given the complete catalogue of online poker games that are available under Playtech’s poker network, which means players will have the opportunity to play Texas Hold’em as well as Omaha, a game becoming increasingly popular online.
“As the leading software provider to the online gaming industry, working extensively in regulated markets, we are very pleased to establish our foothold in Italy through our partnership with Snai,” said Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech. “We are delighted to have reached this agreement to offer our rich palette of poker games, supported by a transparent and efficient management system, to Italy’s leading land-based operator, and we anticipate a rewarding partnership.”
Although the real-money version of Snai’s poker room will not be available until the last quarter of 2008, a free ‘play-for-fun’ version is available now, which means people will have the opportunity to get a taste of what the site will be all about.
“Since the foundation, our company has specialized in skills-based gaming and skill games like poker are a natural evolution of our portfolio for the Italian market,” said Maurizio Ughi, Snai’s chairman. “Having chosen Playtech’s portfolio, we are able to offer our customers two poker games, Texas Hold’em and Omaha. Our aim is to be the leading player in the Italian market for skill games, as we are for horse racing and sports betting. We look forward to a successful working relationship with Playtech.”
Snai poker players will also be able to take advantage of the online betting system that will be available in an integrated system.
