Leading online bookmaker sportingbet has been awarded second place in the customer service category at the contact center world awards in Las Vegas.

The bookie’s Dublin based call centre was the only call centre awarded from within the betting industry by contact center world that are a leading website for contact centre professionals.

The site presented its case to America in the finals after winning the Europe, Middle East and Africa category back in June. More than 1,000 applicants applied for the regional heat with sporting bet bringing home the top performer award.

America’s regional winner, Virgin Mobile, was up against sporting bet in the finals along with winners from the Asia-Pacific region, BCA Central Bank Asia.

Paul Kavanagh, Managing Director of SportingBet and Troy Cox, Operations Manager SportingBet, were in Las Vegas to accept their runner-up prize. Virgin Mobile’s Canadian based call centre scooped first place.
