Betting no longer Strictly come sports events!
17th November, 2008
Online betting can so often be restricted to sporting events, but TV shows are increasingly becoming popular with punters.
Strictly come dancing is one show which has seen increasing numbers of viewers wagering money on who they think will win or be voted out.
It is generally acknowledged that Strictly Come Dancing is a fun family show designed to inspire, amuse and entertain the British public. Whilst at the beginning of the series all the contestants were jovial and quite light-hearted about the show and the prospect of winning, now it seems that the gloves are ready to come off and people will fight to the bitter end, and bitter it may be.
Whilst the other contestants seem to love John Sergeant, there can be no denying that at this point in the series, he is their greatest threat, something of which they must be painfully aware.
On Sunday evening, the first serious potential winner to fall victim to the John Sergeant popularity craze was Cherie Lunghi. Whilst she seemed composed there was a distinct air of irritation, made all the more clear by the words of her dance Partner James Jordan who made a plea to the public to vote on people’s dancing abilities and nothing else.
Whereas the judges would love this show to be about the quality of dancing, it is becoming abundantly clear that people look first and foremost for personality and charisma. Whilst the two weakest dancers John and Jodie should have potentially been in the dance off last night, the fact remains that the public adores them.
With this in mind, think carefully about your bets. It is worth picking a strong contender but one who exudes the most personality and charm. It is highly likely that Tom Chambers will do well in this competition, and he already has good odds of 3/1 (sky bet).
Rachel Stevens might also be kept in by audiences secretly hoping that a love affair will ignite between her and her dance partner Vincent after Saturday’s sensual performance. (7/1 Ladbrokes)
