Super Bowl Betting

The Super Bowl is arguably the largest annual sporting event in the world, with the Climax of the NFL season finishing in a game between the AFC champions vs the NFC champions.

The game will take place on Sunday, with coverage starting at 10pm on Sky Sports One. Millions are expected to bet on the outcome, and many more are expected to tune in to watch.

The event is notoriously long, so expect to be up until the early hours of the morning to see the end.

Arizona Cardinals go into their first Super Bowl in the club’s history, and all that stands between them and the coveted championship Title is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are favourites to win the title, this being their 7th appearance in the Super bowl. Of their 6 previous appearances they have won the title 5 times, the most recent being in 2006.

Make no mistake, even though the Steelers will arguable have a better idea of what to expect, in terms of preparation, pressure, and atmosphere, the Cardinals will want to make their mark and lift the trophy for the first time. The Cardinals will not be fazed by the fact that they are not favourites to win. In their previous matches they have been the underdogs- something which clearly has not deterred them.

Across the board bookmakers see the Steelers as the hot favourites to win: Stan James, Victor Chandler, Paddy Power, Bet Direct and Totesport have given the Steelers odds of 4/11, whilst Bet Internet, Ladbrokes and Totesport favour the Cardinals to win, giving them odds of 11/5

However, betting on American football can sometimes be seen as quite difficult. Not only can betters put money on who they think will win, they can also bet on different aspects of the game. For a first time better, the experience may seem overwhelming.
