The Winners of E-gaming Awards Revealed

1st October, 2007

The annual E-Gaming Awards ceremony held place last Friday at the Natural History museum, where Betfair was awarded the top prize of “Operator of the Year”. “Poker Operator of the Year” was won by Everest Poker, whilst “Casino Operator of the Year” award was given to 888.com and last but not least “European Sportsbook Operator of the Year” belonged to Sportingbet.

The first ever “Outstanding Contribution Award” went to the chairman of this year’s judge’s panel, Mark Blandford.

This is how eGaming explained their decision: “His knowledge of the industry, its workings, its personalities, and its potential is unrivalled. From a small online acorn to the gaming giant that it was before the US authorities intervened, he helped take Sportingbet to the very heights.”

The editor of eGaming Review, Scott Longley added this: “As with previous years, we think the quality of the candidates for the Awards on the short-lists points to the strength and depth of the industry as a whole.”

This is exciting news for all of the gaming operators, as it means that the competition and the rapid expansion of the market is encouraging the sites to become better every year. This event was like a gathering of a big happy family for Christmas dinner, and the presents unwrapped were better than any presents they could wish for.
