UK loves Poker

7th November, 2007

It seems freeroll tournaments and playing for fun are the favourite past times of UK poker players. The Scotsman reported that while poker is becomming increasingly popular in the UK, too many people are too unfamiliar with the rules to risk playing or real money.

Of the 3822 people polled a whopping 23% said that they played poker and while 14% played once a week, 7% were more infrequent players.

One of the major flaws pointed out was that many poker operators make it very hard to learn the game and players have to search the web for sites such as Pokeralerts.co.uk to find the answers.

Some firms have practice modes, which really encourage the player to choose that site over another which just sends them straight to the download page.
