Virgin Games which later became known as Virgin interactive looks to be making a comeback in LA at E3 in June. Details are still very hazy on what Sir Richard Brandon has planned for what is being called an ‘online only interactive initiative’.
Although some claim that the new venture could have more in common with an online streaming service its really anyone’s guess what could be announced.
In the 1980’s and early 1990’s Virgin was a gaming powerhouse however Virgin Interactive Media sold off its operations in the mid 90’s. Despite this, the virgin brand hasn’t been far away from the gaming sector becoming involved particularly with online gambling.
It has been reported that the company is now looking for new partners and publishers for the initiative. Unfortunately the world will have to wait until E3 to find out exactly what the new online service has to offer but knowing Richard Branson it will be a colourful and most likely very profitable affair.
