World Series of Poker Circuit schedule announced
9th July, 2008
The World Series of Poker has actually become a year-round spectacle of events that take place every month or so as WSOP promoters squeeze every last drop of revenue from the most recognizable name in poker.
The new trend for the WSOP brand is a circuit of poker tournaments that take place in various locations at different times throughout the year in addition to the World Series of Poker championships played every summer in Las Vegas.
The WSOP brand has now released the schedule of this season’s World Series of Poker Circuit events. The schedule is as follows:
2008:
2 – 14 Oct. at CAESARS INDIANA
24- 2 Nov. at HORSESHOE HAMMOND (Chicago area)
6- 16 Nov. at HARVEYS LAKE TAHOE (Nevada)
5- 18 Dec. at HARRAH'S ATLANTIC CITY
2009:
20- 9 Feb. at HARRAH'S TUNICA (Mississippi)
12- 25 Feb. at HORSESHOE COUNCIL BLUFFS (Iowa)
4- 14 March at CAESARS ATLANTIC CITY
19- 29 March at HARRAH'S RINCON (San Diego)
12- 29 April at CAESARS PALACE (Las Vegas)
8- 20 May at HARRAH'S NEW ORLEANS
“Playing World Series of Poker Circuit events is the best way to hone your live tournament poker skills in a friendly and competitive environment,” said Jeffrey Pollack, World Series of Poker commissioner. “We continue to fine tune the World Series of Poker Circuit schedule and structures to deliver poker players the best tournaments throughout the year.”
The circuit tournaments allow players to enter a World Series of Poker event without having to make the trip to Las Vegas. It’s also a way to get the WSOP brand out there and keep people talking about it.
