illegal Gambling Ring Members Busted
17th January, 2008
Pittsburg Federal Prosecutors have reported that 9 residents took part in the illegal gambling ring.
It turned out that they ran sports and numbers betting as well as some sort of a game, which used state lottery numbers.
These illegal scheme organizers created a scheme to sell at least five sets of 1,000 tickets between 2002 and July 2006, with $100 ticket price. Winners who got $85,000 were drawn every three months based on the Daily Number, but the organizers themselves took $15,000 from each set of tickets.
Prosecutors expect the ring leaders to waive indictment and plead guilty to conspiracy charges in the coming weeks.
